The Banquet arc is a TOTAL WASTE of OUR TIME!...Absolutely nothing new were said nor meaningful that actually brought the plot forward!...All the repetitive useless bickering & debates back & forth over SO MANY EPISODES would had been better spent fighting each other instead

The goal of the banquet was to delay the main members of the Shen family from returning home while they arrested or killed anyone who opposed them while at the Shen household residence. They were also bringing it to the attention of the other families that the Shen family were colluding with the darkness guild. The reason for this is because they kept things close to their chests while they searched for clues and evidence as to not alert the members of the Shen family of what they were doing. This also leads to the idea that soon the Shen family will either be destroyed or removed from the city which is the meaningful plot progression.

I do agree with you that to many episodes (8 and half so far) were wasted on this which could have been used to focus on the fighting at the Shen household residence more. I guess the author must have wanted to focus on the families talking so that they understood what was the reasoning behind it.

Nah the show creator is simply lazy or trying to save costs to drag on and focus on long conversation scenes instead of fighting scenes

No Im not questioning about the purpose of the Banquet but the dragging of the Banquet with boring repeat dialogs & stupid arguments for so many unnecessary episodes
